PREVENTIVE CARE
CHECK UPS
At dental checkups we perform a thorough evaluation of the overall health of your teeth and gums, perform an oral cancer examination, and take necessary x-rays. Early diagnosis of problems and timely intervention help us in providing the most conservative treatments and saves patients not only from dental discomfort, but also from extensive and expensive treatment.
FAMILY DENTISTRY
We offer a wide range of dental services to meet the needs of entire families. To make it special and for your convenience, we are happy to offer exclusive family appointment dates.
ORAL CANCER SCREENING
In conjunction with a thorough head and neck evaluation, we use VELscope Vx, a diagnostic tool utilized in oral cancer screening. In just 2 minutes, with no rinses, stains or discomfort, the VELscope exam offers discovery of oral pre cancers and oral cancers by providing visual information that may not be apparent under ordinary light.
We also offer oral DNA testing to check for presence of high risk human papilloma virus (HPV), which is known to cause cancer in women.
ORAL HYGIENE
Preventive dental care is extremely important in keeping teeth clean and also in maintaining healthy gums, and hence preventing gum disease. Upon thorough evaluation and determination of a patient’s oral hygiene needs, we present an oral hygiene program custom tailored for that particular patient.
CHILDRENS DENTISTRY
We strive to give our youngest patients the best possible dental experience with our gentle care and positive reinforcement in our bright and fun-filled office. The first dental check-up for children is recommended at age one. Early diagnosis of any dental issues, and intervention if necessary, helps in giving a child optimal dental health and prevents future dental problems. We welcome parents to partner with us in guiding children to develop healthy oral hygiene habits from early on.
GUM CARE
GUM DISEASE TREATMENT
Healthy gums are as important as beautiful teeth in maintaining a gorgeous smile. Early detection of gum problems is significant in preventing early tooth loss, bad breath, bleeding gums, dark triangles between teeth and systemic problems like heart disease. We help patients maintain optimal gum health with non-surgical gum therapy, laser and antibacterial treatments.
GUM CONTOURING
Lips and gums frame teeth to project a beautiful smile. Reshaping gum contours when there is excessive gum tissue showing (i.e., gummy smile), or even minor change to gum around a single tooth, can significantly enhance your smile. We use lasers to perform this procedure which makes it safe, effective and painless
COSMETIC DENTISTRY
TEETH WHITENING
With our in-office whitening procedures, we can offer patients a brighter smile in just one appointment. We use Opalescence Boost Whitening System that utilizes state-of-the-art materials to enhance the radiance of a smile while ensuring safe application and virtually no post-operative sensitivity. Prior to the procedure, we perform a thorough evaluation to assess the level of benefit a patient will gain from the procedure and discuss our findings and any patient concerns.
BONDING
We also offer bonding, which is the application of a tooth colored material matched to the natural color of the teeth. The procedure is used to cover minor chips, alter size and shape of teeth, close spaces between teeth and also treat the discoloration of teeth. Bonding is a single appointment procedure, and it can make a major difference in your smile.
VENEERS
Veneers are thin porcelain laminates placed onto natural teeth. Veneers are used in correcting chipped teeth, malalignment, stained teeth, gaps between teeth or to simply enhance your smile. Porcelain veneers are aesthetic, stain resistant and durable.
AESTHETIC CONTOURING
Aesthetic tooth and gum contouring is a quick, simple and conservative way to enhance your smile in 30 minutes or less! The procedure can be performed on a single tooth or numerous teeth and is indicated for patients who have slightly uneven tooth edges, are unhappy with the shape of their teeth, or have asymmetrical gum levels.
Aesthetic contouring can be done as a stand alone procedure, during smile makeovers, or at the end of Invisalign treatment. In most cases, aesthetic contouring involves redefining both the teeth and gums to more pleasing shapes and levels. Tooth contouring is performed with ultra-fine diamond impregnated burs and discs, while a diode soft tissue laser is used to perform gum contouring. No anesthetic is needed for tooth contouring and typically only a strong topical anesthetic is used for laser gum contouring. The end result is instantly even teeth, balanced gum lines, and a more attractive smile.
RESTORATIVE
TOOTH COLORED FILLINGS
We utilize composite resin filling materials to restore teeth to a natural looking finish. These state-of-the-art materials not only are aesthetically superior to traditional amalgam/silver fillings, but they also accommodate conservative preparation.
CROWN (CAPS) AND BRIDGES
Crowns and bridges are made of porcelain to match natural teeth and are placed over teeth after necessary preparation. They help augment the strength of teeth that are fractured, have large fillings or those that need modification in size and shape to enhance your smile.
SINGLE VISIT BRIDGE ALTERNATIVE
This unique service allows replacement of missing teeth in a single appointment. Using resin materials, a new tooth is constructed and anchored to adjacent teeth. Unlike dentures, the newly constructed tooth is fixed to the natural teeth. This conservative approach does not involve capping adjacent teeth and is an affordable alternative to traditional bridges and implants. This service is also an excellent choice for patients considering implants for the future, as it can be removed without affecting the integrity of the adjacent teeth.
MISSING TEETH REPLACEMENT
Missing teeth can be replaced with natural implants, bridges or dentures.
Implants are titanium substitutes to replace missing natural teeth. They can be used to replace either single or multiple missing teeth and can be used to anchor dentures to improve their retention.
A bridge can be made to replace one or two consecutive missing teeth, using conjoint porcelain caps taking anchorage from the adjacent teeth. It is an alternative to implants in replacing missing teeth.
Complete or partial dentures, with or without metal, can be made to replace multiple missing teeth. A choice of resin teeth or highly aesthetic porcelain teeth is available to give a natural and beautiful smile. See also Single Visit Bridge Alternative.
IMPLANT RESTORATIONS
Implants are used to replace one or more missing teeth. Implants are artificial substitutes of your missing natural tooth root and are made of biocompatible titanium. Once placed in the jaw bone, the body is able to integrate them very well, and hence, implants feel like natural teeth. Natural looking crowns are placed over the implants and are a nice aesthetic alternative to bridges and are very easy to maintain. Implants are also used to anchor dentures, helping in their better retention.
ORTHODONTICS
INVISALIGN
Invisalign is an aesthetic alternative to traditional braces. It involves wearing over the teeth a series of custom made transparent aligner trays specifically designed to straighten the teeth. The aligner trays are virtually invisible, and they straighten teeth by correcting crowding, closing gaps or restoring a relapse of a past orthodontic treatment. With Invisalign, there are no metal braces or wires, and aligner trays can be removed while eating, brushing and flossing
VIVERA RETAINERS
It takes time, skill and investment to create a confident new smile. Studies show that without retention even aligned teeth can gradually revert back to their initial position. This is a very common problem with all orthodontic treatments, and it is one that can be easily overcome. Wearing Vivera retainers means you can protect your smile now and forever. Vivera retainers can be provided as a standalone option or along with Invisalign orthodontic correction
ORAL APPLIANCES
NIGHT GUARD
A night guard is an appliance typically worn while sleeping at night. Its primary function is to prevent teeth surfaces from being ground together, which can cause chipping and cracking of teeth. A mouth guard also functions to reduce or eliminate strained jaw muscles caused by grinding of the teeth while sleeping.
UNDERARMOUR SPORTSGUARD
Under Armour Performance Mouthwear is a collection of custom-fitted products for athletes who wish to excel in their sport or activity. In addition to protecting the teeth, Under Armour sports guards help in reducing excess stress, fatigue and distraction. This specialized mouthwear is only available through authorized Under Armour dental providers and Permalla Dental Care is glad to offer this to our patients.
ORAL APPLIANCE FOR SNORING/ SLEEP APNEA
Worn only during sleep, an oral appliance supports the jaw in a forward position to help maintain an open upper airway. Research shows that oral appliance therapy is an effective treatment option for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
