At Permalla Dental Care, we distinguish ourselves by our level of service, attention to detail, quality of results, and concern for each patient's overall wellness. We are highly trained and genuinely caring professionals, and we work together to help achieve and protect patients’ best oral health and the natural, intrinsic beauty of each smile, delivering results that never look artificial or obvious. We adhere to a “no pressure, no rush” philosophy and tailor treatment plans according to each patient's desire and convenience.

We understand that some patients may feel uneasy about a visit to the dentist. The Permalla Dental Care team shows particular compassion toward patients who have had bad dental experiences in the past or are in any way anxious about dental appointments. We listen carefully to patient concerns and personalize each patient’s care so that visits are as comfortable and pleasant as possible. We offer NuCalm Relaxation System, noise cancelling headsets, cable television, uplifting music, neck pillows and blankets, and genuine kindness in a calm and caring environment. All spaces at Permalla Dental Care are colorful, interesting and fun and have been imagined, designed and quite fantastically created by Dr. Permalla herself, all specifically for your comfort and enjoyment.

At Permalla Dental Care, we take a comprehensive approach to each patient’s oral health and also to their overall wellness. Medical studies show that there is a definite systemic link between the health of one’s mouth and the health of the rest of the body. The mouth often shows early signs and symptoms of other health related issues. At new patient visits we assess in detail the patient’s general health history plus their complete dental history, and we perform a thorough oral health evaluation. We routinely check the overall health of teeth and gums, perform oral cancer exams, take necessary x-rays, and review good oral hygiene practices. Always we inquire about and discuss any patient concerns.

We at Permalla Dental Care believe patient education and preventive care are essential to optimal dental health. We instruct, demonstrate, encourage and guide patients in practicing good methods and techniques for proper “at home” dental hygiene, and we discuss in plain terms with our patients options and strategies for needed “in office” care. Early detection and proper diagnosis of problems, along with timely intervention, allows us to provide the most conservative treatments. This saves patients from more extensive, costly procedures.

At Permalla Dental Care, we are on the leading edge of modern dentistry by practicing minimally invasive dental care, a progressive philosophy and technique used by forward thinking dental professionals. We integrate state-of-the-art technology and the highest quality materials available with advanced clinical techniques and artistic talents to deliver more conservative, less invasive treatment compared to traditional methods.

One of the greatest recent advances in dentistry is the shift toward microdentistry--the practice of early detection, prevention, and intervention of tooth and oral disease, thus preserving healthy tooth structure. This shift in philosophy is moving clinicians away from the practice of “watch-wait-and-treat” dentistry to a significantly more proactive form of “diagnose-and-prevent” approach. Microdentistry enables us to perform smaller fillings, which last considerably longer when compared to larger fillings.

Since the introduction of fluoridation, outwardly detectable decay has been dramatically reduced. Because of the strengthening that fluoride creates in the outer layer of tooth enamel, the pattern of decay has changed. Rather than large areas of a tooth surface succumbing to the attack of plaque acid, decay now appears as small discrete areas, often undetectable to dental explorer, yet visible as color change inside the tooth under high magnification, which when opened has a balloon effect, compromising an extensive amount of tooth structure. Using traditional assessment methods, where a dentist is waiting until a detectable hole is formed, often means the patient will need a much larger restoration, which may eventually need a crown. If the patient is putting off treatment until the tooth hurts, the tooth may need a root canal. At Permalla Dental Care, we use high magnification loupes (higher compared to the industry standard) with extremely bright LED light focussed right to the target area, aiding in accurate and early detection, providing superior view. We also use a revolutionary new laser that detects cavities in the earliest possible stages with great accuracy (>90%). The benefits of early detection include:

• Opportunity to remineralize and reverse cavity progression
• No anesthesia necessary in most cases
• No discomfort or pain during treatment
• Maintained natural tooth aesthetics
• Preservation of healthy tooth structure
• Increased longevity of conservative fillings
• Less patient chair time
• Lower costs to restore the tooth

We embrace minimally invasive dentistry as our standard of care when treating patients’ dental needs. Less invasive procedures provide for a greater degree of predictability. There are, however, usually several different types of treatment options for any given clinical condition, and we offer all options to patients with sufficient explanation, so they can make informed decisions regarding their treatment choices.

Minimally Invasive Dental care is a mindset. We incorporate this concept in various aspects of patient care. Please click here to learn more about this progressive concept that will benefit our patients’ overall wellness.

To protect our patients and ourselves, we are equipped with state-of-the-art steam sterilization equipment and strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination procedures that exceed recommendations by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). We also protect and respect patient privacy. We take additional measures to ensure patient information is always safe and secure.
