Dr. Praveena Permalla believes that every smile is a work of art; each person is a living masterpiece and every smile of satisfaction is priceless. She says, "If I can help a patient visualize what their dental health could be, and help them get there, then I know I am doing my job to the best of my ability. To me, the greatest success and satisfaction comes from surpassing the expectations of our patients and treating them with respect, honesty and empathy. While providing care at the highest professional standards, I believe in having a happy and compassionate team that inspires and enables all of us to provide an outstanding experience to our patients." Her gentle approach, excellent clinical skills and committment to patient education will make you and your family feel at ease.

In her spare time, Dr. Permalla enjoys spending time with her two sons, husband and family. She also enjoys miniature sculpting and oil/acrylic painting. Her keen eye for aesthetics and design is displayed through out the Permalla Dental Office, where her own artwork is on display.

I care because....

I chose to make a difference in people's lives through honesty, empathy and kindness. It's a duty, an obligation and an honor. I believe in - you only treat what you see, you only see what you know. Knowledge in combination with the technology and technical skills serve to deliver the best possible treatment outcomes . Therefore, I commit myself to lifelong learning and bringing the latest and greatest to our patients' access. So, YES, I ABSOLUTELY CARE!

Margaret MacMinn, DMD

Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), University of Las Vegas

American Dental Association, California Dental Association

I attended University of Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine for my DMD. After finishing my dental training, I moved to the North Bay seven years ago. I am currently working on a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, focusing continued education on esthetics and problem solving in complex cases. My favorite part of dentistry is restoring someone's experience of the dentist. If they have had poor experiences in the past, I want to show them how it can be an easy, gentle experience. I choose to work with Dr. Permalla because I respect how everything at the office is carefully considered. We research each material we use, where it comes from, how it will serve the patient, and how it will impact the environment. The office is designed to feel fun and non-clinical. Most of all, I appreciate having the support to be able to treat each patient just as I would want to treat my own family members; that makes dentistry enjoyable, and everyone can sense how much we enjoy our work. In my spare time, I enjoy running around after my three children, exploring local beaches, and traveling to Tahoe.

I CARE because helping people to feel better about the health of their teeth and more confident about their smiles is very fulfilling. Also, gaining people's trust and helping to make dental procedures less stressful for people makes me happy.

Danelia Chavez, RDH

I was born and raised in Santa Rosa. Graduated with an Associates in Physiology at SRJC, moved to Farmingtion, New Mexico and graduated with an assoc of dental hygiene. I have been in the dental field for over 15 years. I moved back to California after working for a few years in Colorado.

I care and love dental hygiene because it's very gratifying. I care because I enjoy educating my patients on what they are able to do better if needed. Ask me if I care, of course I care or I wouldn't be here with a smile on my face always trying to help my patients improve their oral health care!

Danielle DeLacy, Patient Relations Coordinator, Permalla Dental Care, Petaluma, CA 94952

Danielle Delacy, Office Manager

My name is Danielle and I am Permalla Dental Care's office manager. I was a part of the Permalla Dental Care team when our doors first opened in 2010 and I am so thrilled to be able to continue to provide outstanding care. My career in the dental field first began when I was fifteen years old, working part time at a periodontist office. What I love most about the dental field is that it provides me the opportunity to improve patients' health and well being in a very specific way. My personal dental experiences have always been positive, but I know many people cannot say the same thing. My goal is to insure that any person entering our practice feels confident in our team and leaves feeling thrilled with the care they received. I love helping others and I am available for any questions you may have regarding dental insurance, treatment planning, and beyond. I care about our patients because even though I may only see some patients twice a year, they still become part of the Permalla Dental Care family and I feel honored to be a small part of their lives.

Erica Farias-Garcia, Lead Dental Assistant

I have been a dental assistant since 2005. I attended College Of Marin and Santa Rosa Junior College. I have lived in Petaluma since I was 4 years old and continue to live here with my two kids and husband . When I'm not working I love to bake and love spending time with my kids and husband .

Why I care...

I care to be in the medical field because I like to make a difference in other people's lives. Knowing I can make a difference in someone's life satisfies me. One of my favorite parts about being a dental assistant is being able to interact with people everyday. I love being able to help people feel better about their smiles and themselves. I take pride in knowing I've helped transform even the most anxious, nervous and fearful patients, simply by them trusting that I will be there for them. Early in my career as a dental assistant I noticed a great fear in many patients and realized that I could help them to not be so fearful of dentistry. I will do anything to make patients feel comfortable. I will hold your hand, be your friend and treat you like family to help make coming to your dental appointment a fun experience. At a very young age my mother instilled in me to always treat others they way you want to be treated. So, ask me if I care... Of course I care. I care deeply, it's what I do best.

Amy Favia, Registered Dental Assistant

I am proud to call myself a true Petaluman. I had the privilege of growing up in Petaluma where I as a child was active in Sports, Girl Scouts, Petaluma Youth and Casa Grande Choirs, and also Theatrical Arts. Prior to making the transition into the dental field, I held a 12+ year career in the print and online media industry, working for several local publications. After careful consideration I decided to make a complete career change and join the dental industry! I graduated from the S.R.J.C. Dental Assisting program in 2015, and was awarded the Most Valuable Team Member of my graduating class. I began my career as an RDA with Permalla Dental Care just days after graduation and could not ask for a better team of dental professionals to work with each day! I reside in town with my husband Jeremy and we have a total of four boys. When I am not working I enjoy fishing, cooking, travel, and playing with my dog, Cinzia. As a family we love to go camping, wakeboarding, dirt-biking, and the beach.

WHY I CARE: Our teeth are vital to us in our daily lives. To me, it doesn’t matter if you are 6 years old or 86 years old, every single patient I work with will receive the same level of care I would give if it were my own family member in the chair. That same level of commitment holds true no matter if your teeth are in great shape or need major work. My reward is your smile when you leave our office after an appointment.

ASK IF I CARE…darn right I do! After all, a smile is the best looking thing a person can wear each day and it’s my job to help keep yours healthy!

Marilyn Hernandez, Financial Coordinator

I have been in the dental field since 2011 and quickly became passionate about helping patients achieve a better understanding of the financial aspect of their oral health. My everyday goal is to provide the best support to each patient whether it is understanding their dental insurance or exploring other options without compromising their best interest.

Raised in Sonoma county, I appreciate the outdoors. My son and I enjoy hiking, swimming and most of all, spending time with the people we love.

I care because I believe in looking out for each other. What better way to do that than to work as a team to assist patients every step of the way to a healthy smile. Sharing every bit of information that we as a dental office can provide to help patients make an educated decision. Plus if I don't care, who will?

Julie Evans, Patient Relations Coordinator

s a team member of Permalla Dental Care I feel honored to work with a great team as well as wonderful patients to interact with and help on a daily basis. As your Patient Relations Coordinator I will always do my best to accommodate your needs. Patient care has always been important to me and I feel that is where my personality shines most. I moved from the peninsula to Petaluma in 2012 and could not be happier. Petaluma is a unique town with a great, small town feel. In my free time I like to work out, enjoy the outdoors, volunteer for children's organizations, spend time with family and most of all my husband and dog.

Why I care...

I feel I have always been hypersensitive to others feelings. I have been told I am easy to talk to and have an understanding way about me. As an anxious person myself, I feel being in the medical field allows me to understand the spiked anxiety levels that can coincide with dental appointments. If there is anything I can do to ease your mind, let you know everything is going to be ok, I feel I have done my job at the end of the day. It is rewarding for me to be able to see our patients smile while walking out our door after an appointment. In full spectrum, knowing I am working with a team I trust, our patients are in great hands. My goal is to make sure you understand treatment, feel confident with our practice and have the best experience possible. I truly care for each and every patient that walks through our door.
